Harvest Sunset

Last night I rode the motorcycle to a Monday night meeting I have each week.  The sunset was nice and lasted a long time.

I had parked on a dead end road in the country.  As I was clicking away I heard the faint sound of an engine.  It was a farmer pulling his cultivating discs.  He turned in front of me and gave a silhouette to the sunset.  Farming has long hours.

  2. Love the silhouette! What a brilliant sky to be out and about beneath.

  5. Both are really lovely, but the farmer really adds a nice touch to the image. My daughter has done some farming (her best friend is from a grass seed family). She said all those hours in the combine were very boring!

  6. Kari,
Thank you. It's hard to tell from the shot above but the farmer was on his cell phone. Hey, one has to keep in touch these days! Between cell phones and iPods farming is probably a little less lonely and boring than it use to be.
