Foggy Forest

I don't know... there's something about a foggy forest that intrigues me.  The diffused light through the fog acts as a filter that gives various amounts of emphasis to each tree.  It makes me think of how talented artists are who can paint this kind of scene.  All I did was press the shutter button.

  1. I love the forest. A good place to ponder the important things in life, enjoy the greatest creation of all, and create some fantastic tales never to be written. Now you know how I spend my time in the forest.

Lovely image Mike, very peaceful. I'd love to go stroll amongst the trees.

  2. Hey Mike, there is also something eerie and even spooky about a foggy or misty forest...

  3. I love a foggy forest...spooky, mysterious and beautiful. My fondest memories are of the Muir Woods just north of San Francisco...redwoods in the fog are something special.

  5. Kari,
I like what you wrote. A foggy forest brings out different emotions and feelings for everyone. It is a great place to ponder because of it's beauty and silence. Thank you.

    Pat,
You've said it well as Carolyn did. Eerie, spooky, mysterious, are all words that describe this scene. I guess we link these feelings with movies we've seen and books we've read. Thank you.

    Carolyn,
The John Muir Woods is a wonderful place! When I was 18 two buddies of mine and I made a road trip there from LA in my Chevy Corvair. We camped out. It was one of the best experiences. Thank you.

    Steve,
Thank you. I know you get some nice fog where you are!

  7. Hi Stacey,
Sometimes the late afternoon is foggy too. This shot was taken about 10:30 am. I know what you're saying, the real good lighting is early. Thank you.
