(Haystack Rock - Cannon Beach, OR)
The last couple of days I've been working at the coast. Yesterday afternoon as I was approaching a favorite spot of Yolanda at Giving it a Shot, I decided to stop and take a couple of photos for her. She's going through a difficult battle and I thought this might brighten her outlook these days. We all need a Rock in life. Haystack is always there even when it's covered in fog and we can't see it. It's always there.
Yolanda, your positive attitude in spite of what you're going through is an inspiration to many. I hope these photos don't make you homesick. Just remember, you'll be back soon.
This is a beautiful scene which I truly hope inspires Yolanda to cope with whatever is going on in her life. How kind of you to offer this as a tribute to the struggle.
ReplyDeletebeautiful scenery!! tnx!
ReplyDeleteAWEsome shots,

Touching gesture Mike. The scenery has got to perk up Yolanda's spirits as it does mine.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by and leaving a nice comment. Its been far too long since I visited your blog. Life just gets in the way sometimes.
Awe!!! Thanks Mike! I love my rock! I also miss my rock :( I will be back soon, and probably spend time at my favorite spots on the coast! Thank you for rocking my day with the lovely familiar scene of Cannon Beach!
ReplyDeleteHow sweet of you Mike - those are beautiful images. I hope to see that rock in person one day.... reminds me of God - He's our Rock - even when we don't see Him - He's always there!
ReplyDeleteThis rock has such an enormous presence when you are in front of it - it has a life of its own, within the rock, the tidal pools all around it, a delicate ecosystem all to itself, like a mini-planet. And yet, that rock can disappear before you. It is a force, and you can always feel its presence, even in the heaviest of fogs. I've had many conversations with God right here. I feel the closest to Him when I am right here.
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone for your comments. I appreciate you!
ReplyDeleteYolanda,
I like your observations about Haystack and that's really neat that you feel close to God there. Hope you're having a glorious weekend! Thank you!
