Fruit of the Vine

I pass by this vineyard outside of Rickreall, Oregon once a month.  It has many faces depending on the time of year, position of the sun and the weather.  I've not stopped in the past to take photos but decided to yesterday afternoon.

The grapes look immature at this point but that will hopefully change soon. Last month was one of the wettest months of May we've had on record.  The forecast for June looks wet too. Hopefully the vineyards will get some warm dry weather soon.

  1. Love the vineyard shots. The rows of vines look like spines running up the hill. Beautiful lines!

  4. Yolanda,
Thank you! This is one of the bigger ones and it's right next to a main road. As you drive by those lines are eye-catching.

    The Retired One,
A little known secret about Oregon is some areas in the state produce wine which rivals some of the best wine from France. Thank you for stopping by lately!

  8. Yolanda,
PS - these shots were taken in raw but because I couldn't fiddle with them in PS I converted them to jpeg with another program. Photoshop can be frustrating! :)

  11. I love seeing the vineyards around the valley. They're lovely in all seasons. I don't think I've seen the grapes close up in spring.

All this rain, you've caught the two most prominent colors this spring: green and grey.

  12. Kari,
You've stated it well about the two prominent colors these days. It's a challenge to find bright sunny subjects! Tomorrow should be nice!

  13. The vineyard looks so lush and green. I hope the raing won't do too much damage. We have very few grapes on our vines this year. Too much rain and cool weather this year too.

  14. Sue,
A while back we were behind in our rain about 6 inches. Now they say we're only about 2 inches behind. May was a wet month but the crops seem to be doing okay. You guys have had a lot of rain too! Thank you!
