Healing Garden

Most hospitals have a healing garden.  A quiet area with beautiful flowers and shrubs it's a place for prayer, rest, and healing.  Each Monday I walk through the healing garden on my way to the facilities department at one of Portland's major medical centers. Yesterday I took a couple of photos.  My wife is out of town on business so I don't have my plant expert on hand. I don't know what these are but God sure made them pretty!

  2. I think its a Pansy and a Lily Mike. The Pansy is really lovely, I like the look of the Lily, but hate the smell of them I cant stay in a room where they are if they are brought indoors.

  4. John,
    I agree - thank you!

    Roy,
Thank you for identifying both of these. Now you've got me curious about how Lilies smell. I'll have to check it out next week. :)

    Joan,
    Thank you!

  5. I would say a pansy and a lily as well. The angle of the lily makes it look like something more exotic. Perfect background picking up the same colors from the lily. Makes quite an interesting composition.

Our local hospital has also added a healing garden. I've walked through it a few times. It's quite peaceful.

  6. Mmmmm.... the orange one looks good enough to eat! The color is delicious! I love the idea of a healing garden. I will be home in the NW in less than two weeks!

  7. Kari,
Thank you. I haven't actually walked out into the healing garden at your hospital but it looks good from that hallway that passes by it. It's neat that it's surrounded by the hospital.

    Yolanda,
I thought the same thing about the orange one. It reminds me of one of those popsicles with orange on the outside and ice cream on the inside.

That's pretty exciting about your return to the NW soon!
