I just learned last year (and I'm HOW old??) that one is male and the other is female. I had thought that each was their own separate breed. Pretty cool that they aren't, huh?
The one on the top photo is a Drake (male) and the other is a Hen. Both are Mallards. It's interesting how with birds the male is the most colorful. You would think it should be the other way around. :)
It's fun to go out shooting ducks...with the camera :) Did you notice the backgrounds seem to echo the colors and textures in each of the ducks? Nice captures!
The way the light reflects off the water makes those interesting shapes. You are funny Kari! It is fun to shoot ducks with a camera. I also like it when the Beavers beat the ducks. :)
