A Small Slice of Americana

One more photo from the weekend at the coast.  After I found the ice cream I passed by this Saturday night event which probably happens in thousands of small towns around the country. The room was packed as were all the nearby parking spots.  It was a quaint scene of fellowship and old fashioned entertainment; a small slice of Americana.

  2. Ah yes, the ever present Bingo parlor. I love the warm light with the blue background. I like that the sky still has a little light in it, giving it a nice blue color and shows the texture of the clouds. Much nicer than straight black sky. A really cozy scene!

  3. Thanks Eve! B4...BINGO!

Thanks Kari! I was surprised that the sky was still visible. It was well after sundown and it's looking east.

  4. Like the nighttime shot - was it a longer exposure?

  5. Hi Yolanda! No, it was handheld from the car window with my G10. It was f/7.1 at 400 ISO with the shutter speed of 0.5. The white balance was on auto. I think what I did was set the ISO on 400 and just metered it to underexpose it to keep it on the bright side. I could've lowered the f stop though. Thank you!

Thanks for preserving a bit of Americana.
That could be a book in the making.
