Hi Mike, fabulous "aerial perspective" on this shot. Reference your choice of the next camera. I think the 7D comes out on top. It has similar Mega Pixel rating, it will take any EF-S lens you have (the 5D mk2 wont.) The 7D shoots more frames per second for catching wildlife action. More auto focus points. It has a more advanced processor. Its a more recent model which always makes a difference with Canon models. Most importantly its less expensive.{:) The 5D being full frame is supposed to produce the better image, (the 7D is APS-C), if everything else the 7D does suits you better then thats the one to go for.
Roy, Thank you very much for your input! Others have said what you've said but you make a distinct point about the 7D being a more recent model and the difference that makes. The fact that it's less expensive and has far more features than the 5D is a strong pull. I greatly appreciate your advice - thanks again!

Oh I am feeling the mountain today in my heart! I miss my Mt. Hood! Thank you for the image of Mt. Jefferson - my beloved NW - I miss it so much!

Very nice image Mike. I love the layering effect of the mountains fading back to Jefferson. The mountains are my favorite place.
